artisan camera

My dad was an avid photographer as a young man. These are the cameras he used.

This one is very artisan.

This is an artisan photo of a boy at Rockaway beach in 1971. Notice the artisan swimming trunks.

artisan circus tents

I wring out my creative energy. This blog, brooklynwind, is my artistic sculpture, in progress. I would like to thank all of the readers, visitors, and followers of this blog, for encouraging my art journey. The blog has opened up my art to viewing, and has thus balanced my artisan endeavor. I welcome comments.
Today, I present, the artisan circus tents, I have made so far. They are drawn on paper, then colored with ink and paint, adhered to a board and then a card stand.

artisan sports

Skateboarding is a true art form. It represents the tension between practice and art that becomes a balanced freedom. I never learned how to skateboard, but I always admired it as a sport. Many people become very angry at skateboarding, and that is another reason why I think it is so artistic. Strong visceral responses identify good art. I judge a neighborhood by the quality of it's skatepark.

PS. Please protect your greatest asset. Always wear a helmet when riding! Now, as I say in my Art-o-Mat column, "Find a skateboard. Lose a collar!"

artisan video

I made this video to tell a story about a bird that I draw named "LULU". Lulu is an artisan bird.

artisan curtains

Curtains are a very difficult artisan project. Sometimes you need help. For this trio of windows my wife and I hired a professional "curtain hanger." Are there certain projects that you just ask for help with more than others?

What is Artisan Living?

This blog is about artisan lifestyle, and communicating and teaching artisan living. What is artisan living?
Artisan living is celebrating the beautiful aspects of life at every moment, and by doing so, bringing the beauty that life can be into awareness and making it a reality. Artisan living can start small, and here and there, and eventually can be big and everywhere. Putting on your shoes can be done in artisan fashion. Sit on an outdoor park bench (placed indoors), and slide on your shoes with a red, shoe horn. Give a compliment and smile. Wear a suit to a movie about poetry. These are examples of artisan living.

It does involve some work to increase the level of artisan. Many Nouns can be artisan, nevertheless, the higher your spirits soar, the better. Much help is required to achieve a high artisan experience. Research teaches and inspires us. My wife referred me to which is a great example of a blog that can inspire the artisan lifestyle.

artisan souvenir photo

I cherish getting together with family, friends, and relatives to celebrate...anything. At a recent engagement party, I spoke with my wife, children, siblings, cousins, and friends about how hard our mothers worked to raise us, and how we all respected and loved them. In response, I posted the above photo. It includes mother's pastries, children's sculptures, and vintage childhood toy. An artisan photo preserves an artisan moment.

artisan women's shoes

It is not surprising that heels on women are very artisan. This is an easy one, any pair they choose is always an artisan one.

artisan messenger bag

When I carry keys, wallet, glasses, phone, sketchbook, and pencils, I use a messenger bag. This is more artisan than stuffing everything in a back pocket. Plaid is masculine and the strap across the back is REQUIRED for an approved look.

Setting Change Nourishes Artisan Lifestyle

The daily work routine can dull the senses. Setting changes, throughout the year, support the artisan lifestyle. Travel, near or far, challenges perspectives and exercises the mind. Vacation is a time to get away from work and connect with your self, family, and friends.

Pools are wonderful. Water is nourishing. Fruit and juice is a great choice for lunch. It is refreshing. A cabana is good for reading, napping, and shelter from the sun, rain, and afternoon crowds.
